Examination Procedure at the University

All your life after being fed up of exams you think in college you will get some relief. Yes you do get some in relief in college, but not in VIT. Just in about one month when you are about to be completely settled here, you write your first internal examinations(CAT)(not forgetting a series of quizzes the week before). About the time you receive your marks, you are faced with another series of CAT(II). You think as if you were enrolled in a TEST SERIES. Oh!, and did i forget to say that there are two more quiz series before and after CAT II. This all is about to sink in, when you get the datesheet for your term end examinations. Even your parents will be horrified when you will tell them about so much of your examinations. After CAT I, your time flies by like a flash, you don't know when exams pass by and you fail in most of them!!!
Think about it...all life so much exmainations....why not take BBA/MBA or go to another college where there are only two examinations.

Snap Back to Reality!!

So, just finished your board exams and now searching for a good engineering college, many may have recommended VIT to you, because of its "world class standards, international style campus(350 acres), diversity, ......."

Let me brief you on all those rosy terms---

World Class Standards
The world class standards here include broken showers, broken doors, jail cell identical beds, A/C rooms where A/C won't work half the day, absolutely illiterate teachers with broken english who are themselves M.tech passouts of VIT!!, top class courses about whom the teachers even have no idea. Such a godforsaken place that a decent eating joint is 200km away.
Here are some Pics :

International Style Campus
Well 350 acres........ impressed??So were we,but when you have to walk 2.5km everyday to get to your class, then you wish it were 50 acres only.In the scorching heat (which lasts almost the whole year) there is no time to enjoy the campus. The buildings are good from the outside, inside they appear like old govt. school classrooms. There is a railway line that separates the campus and the hostels, it certainly is really pleasant when nearing the hostel intime(8.30pm), you find the railway gate closed.

Diversity
VIT boasts of students from 42 countries!!!!(only possible when you consider CHINA as a collaboration of 42 countries). We are so diverse that teachers only notice one region of the country(i.e south). They are given preference over marks, attendance, checking of lab manuals at the last minute. We are treated like street dogs, teachers are so rude to you if u don't know tamil
